SobeePal

Privacy policy

SobeePal is a quit tracker you can use on your own, or with pals you choose. This policy says what the app and this website store, what stays private, and how to delete an account.

Last updated October 16, 2026. SobeePal is operated by Three Three Digital.

Who to contact

Privacy questions go to robert@threethreedigital.com. That is also the support address.

This website

The website at this address is a public marketing site. It does not ask you to create an account, and it does not receive the records stored in the SobeePal app.

Vercel hosts the website. Delivering a page involves ordinary technical information such as an IP address, the browser type, and the page requested. SobeePal does not add a product-analytics tool, an advertising pixel, or a marketing cookie on this site.

Your account

The iPhone app uses Supabase to sign you in and to store your records. An account includes:

  • Your email address and a password held by Supabase Auth. The app does not put your password in its own tables.
  • A display name. People you connect with can see that name.
  • An optional gender, including a short description if you write your own. Pals do not see it.
  • A session kept on your phone so you can stay signed in.

Email sign-up asks you to confirm the email address. There is no anonymous account.

Recovery information we store

These records are stored in Supabase, in a database that only your signed-in account can read unless a section below says you chose to share something:

  • Quit goals for alcohol, cannabis, and vaping, including quit dates and later count restarts after a setback.
  • Private reasons you write for a goal.
  • Daily check-ins: the mood you pick, an optional craving strength, optional triggers, and an optional note.
  • Journal entries.
  • Feedback you send from the app about something that went wrong.
  • Which goals you hide on Today, and how you arrange that screen.
  • Notification settings, and a device token if you allow notifications.

Check-in notes, craving strength, triggers, journal entries, reasons, gender, and feedback are not included in anything a pal or a huddle can open.

Pals and huddles

Pals are optional. A huddle is a small group of up to four people, including you. You can use SobeePal with no pals. Nothing about your progress is shared until you turn a setting on, and you can turn it off again.

For each pal, and separately for each huddle, you can choose to share:

  • Whether you checked in today. Not the note.
  • The mood you picked today.
  • Your current day count. Someone who can see that number can roughly tell when the current count started. It is not a ranking.
  • Milestones you have reached, such as 30 days. Not the calendar date.

In a huddle, you can also turn on “What I’m quitting.” That shows the substances you are tracking. It does not show your reasons. That switch is not offered for an individual pal.

If you message a pal or a huddle, the people in that conversation can read the message and any reaction. A cheer tells the other person that a pal cheered them. It does not include a note. Leaving a huddle or ending a friendship stops future access. A message already open on someone else’s phone can remain on that phone until their app refreshes.

Blocking stops new direct messages and cheers. It does not remove someone from a huddle you already share.

On your iPhone

Widgets keep a snapshot on the phone so they can show counts, a check-in, or a huddle without opening SobeePal. That snapshot does not include your journal, private reasons, craving notes, or a sign-in token. Lock Screen widgets start without substance names. Names appear only if you turn them on for that widget. Signing out replaces the snapshot with a signed-out state.

A daily check-in reminder can be scheduled on the phone. Message and cheer notices can also appear from the app. Those notices are controlled in Account.

Account deletion

In the app, open Account and choose Delete account. SobeePal asks for your password and then deletes the signed-in user in Supabase. Records tied to that account, including goals, check-ins, journal entries, reasons, pals, huddle membership, and messages you sent, are removed with the account. This cannot be undone from the app.

Deletion does not erase a copy that is already stored on someone else’s phone until that app refreshes. It also does not erase a widget snapshot that iPhone has already painted until the phone redraws it.

Services that run SobeePal

SobeePal does not sell personal information and does not use it for advertising. The services that actually handle data are:

  • Supabase. Account sign-in, the database, live message delivery, and the function that deletes an account. Your recovery records are stored there.
  • Apple. The iPhone app, widgets, and notifications. Apple processes what its systems need to run those features on your phone.
  • Vercel. Hosting for this website only. The app’s records are not sent to Vercel.

The app is built with Expo. Your journal, check-ins, and other recovery records are not sent to Expo. There is no separate analytics provider in the app or on this website.

Changes
